The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking an Associate, Finance and Operations to support the daily finance, HR, and administrative functions of the GAIN office based in Washington DC, US.
GAIN is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially those most vulnerable to malnutrition.
About the role
The Associate, Finance and Operations will support the Manager, Financial Systems and Reporting/Head of US Operations to ensure effective financial management of assigned donor grants as well as been responsible of the finance, HR, and administrative functions of the US office.
Role specifics include;
- Day to day office tasks such as sending/receiving packages, arranging for guests to access the office, ordering office supplies
- Coordinate employee onboarding (insurance, 401(k), transit deductions, IT setup, inductions)
- Complete semi-monthly payroll with the line manager supervision
- Ensure all reports are submitted accurately and on time to donors with sufficient variance analysis and context to enable transparency for donors assigned to this post
- Ensure project donor audits are organized and conducted to achieve compliance
- Process invoices for payment, ensuring compliance with GAIN policies and proper entry to accounting software
You must be a self-starter with proven experience of working with budgets and payment processes as well as benefits management and payroll.
You will be an effective communicator and you will have the ability to successfully manage interactions with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. With a proactive commitment to quality and accuracy with close attention to detail, you will have knowledge of basic financial principles.
Experience supporting with HR tasks will also be beneficial.
