Job Summary

Job Description

The overall objective of this consultancy is to develop at least 15 training modules, with more in-depth training in child protection work, based on the “Guidelines on Basic Competencies for Social Service Workforce in Cambodia” which were endorsed by MoSVY on 26 November 2019.

Consultant(s) Qualifications:

Lead consultant

Education

At least master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Development, Community Development and/or other related fields

Experiences

  •  At least 15-years of practical experience in children, youths and families, preferably in child protection
  •  Academic experience in social work or other related fields
  • Experience in development of training curriculum on social work
  •  Experience of working with multiple stakeholders and sector specific experts
  •  Knowledge and understanding of the “Collective Impact Approach”
  • Experience of working in Cambodia and/or developing countries in the South-East Asia Region, is the key asset.

Competencies

  •  Knowledge on the local context, needs/issues of alternative family care services and current challenges of developing appropriate social work sector practices in developing countries
  •  Excellent cross-cultural communication skills
  •  Knowledge and experience working with vulnerable children and their families
  •  Knowledge of child protection issues in developing countries
  •  High level of oral and written communication skills
  •  Ability to demonstrate similar types of work completed around the areas of focus, along with references

Consultant Team Memersb

Education

  • Master’s degree, preferably in Social Work, Psychology, Development, Community Development and/or other related fields

Experiences

  •  At least 10-years of practical experience in children, youths and families, preferably in child protection
  •  At least 5 years of academic experience in the field of social work, preferably with RUPP, NISA,and Association of Professional Social Workers in Cambodia (APSWC)
  •  Experience in designing training curriculum and delivering the training
  •  Experience of working with multiple stakeholders, including with government agencies and NGOs
  •  Experience in team work with lead consultant

Competencies

  •  Knowledge on existing child protection mechanism in Cambodia, needs/issues of alternative family care services and current challenges of developing appropriate social work sector practices
  •  Excellent cross-cultural communication skills
  •  Knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable children and their families
  •  Fluency oral and written communication skills in Khmer and English
  •  Ability to demonstrate similar types of work completed around the areas of focus, along with references
  •  Ability to work effectively with teams and independently as appropriate

The Consultancy Period: August to December 2020
