Chemonics seeks a Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Specialist for the five-year, $18.9 million USAID/Uzbekistan Agribusiness Development Activity which will work to orient the Uzbek agricultural sector to increasingly high-value products and expand it into regional markets and beyond. By supporting new value chains and scaling up work in the west and south of the country, the project will increase sales and exports in the sector. This position will be based in the project’s office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in all data verification activities for the project
  • Work with the M&E Manager and other technical staff to review databases and spreadsheets for M&E data collection, templates and formats for reporting, and to develop a system for data capturing, entry, storage and retrieval
  • Ensure data use within the project for evidence-based decision making, and help solve data problems if and when they arise
  • Maintain a comprehensive and well-organized backup documentation system for project indicators, activities, and databases
  • Organize and enter training participants into database as needed
  • After receiving training from a Chemonics M&E expert, regularly update and maintain the Agribusiness Development Activity’s online M&E database using 
  • Work closely with the M&E manager and team to continually enhance the performance monitoring system


  • University degree
  • Experience with database management and data verification, preferably on USAID or other donor-funded programming
  • Computer literacy with demonstrated use of word processing, database and presentation software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in Uzbek and proficiency in English required and Russian proficiency preferred
