Job Description

Chemonics seeks qualified and highly motivated candidates for long-term technical positions on the anticipated USAID-funded Responsible Investment and Trade Activity. This five-year activity aims to promote civilian ownership of the Myanmar economy by increasing the share held by responsible, accountable, and transparent firms. These positions will be based in Yangon. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

We are looking for technical advisors in the following areas:

  • Responsible investment
  • Trade promotion and facilitation
  • Private sector development and engagement
  • Economic policy reform
  • Access to finance
  • Transparent and responsible business practices
  • Business enabling environment
  • Institutional, small- and medium-sized enterprises, and entrepreneurship capacity building and training
  • Strategic communications and outreach
  • Monitoring, evaluation, and learning


  • A bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, public policy, or a relevant filed is required; an advanced degree is preferred
  • Minimum of five years of experience required in private sector development, trade facilitation, investment, and/or a relevant technical area
  • Experience working on or with donor-funded programs is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Professional verbal and written proficiency in English is required
