Policy Officer – Inclusive Education

Sightsavers is looking for a Policy Officer to join our Policy and Global Advocacy (PGA) directorate. You will use your experience of inclusive education and/ or international development issues to conduct and support inclusive education policy analysis as well as to engage and influence the development of inclusive education and international development policy.
Location: Haywards Heath
Hours: This is a full-time position and some flexibility regarding hours and working from home will be considered
Salary: c£33,801 per annum
As Policy Officer, you will conduct high quality policy analysis and support the generation of evidence to deliver Sightsavers’ policy objectives in inclusive education. You will also provide vital support in preparing responses to relevant consultations and inquiries, conduct analysis on relevant policies and participate in relevant networks to provide analysis and collaborative influencing in line with Sightsavers’ objectives.
Working closely with the wider team, relevant policy networks, alliance partners, sector peers and Government decision makers, the Policy Officer will play an active and collaborative role in PGA and the wider Policy and Programme Strategies Directorate.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Experience of working on inclusive education, international development or other relevant policy areas
- Experience of conducting analysis
- Experience of supporting policy work at national and international levels
- Understanding of development issues / knowledge of current issues and best practice in international development
- Educated to degree or Masters level, or equivalent experience in relevant topic
You will be a pro-active team player, able to represent the organisation to external bodies. You will have strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
