This Regional role based in Jordan manages a small team team of finance advisors/coordinators to support the National Associations in the MENA region (Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia)

To fulfil this role you will be an experienced and fully qualified Financial Director with at least 3-4 years of leadership experience. You will have experience working in the INGO or not for profit sector and will have worked in at least 2 of the countries that we are responsible for.

As important as your background and experience is your ability to work in a demanding environment with great focus on driving for best quality results. You will work as an integral part of the regional management team (RMT) and be used to working collaboratively with peers in a cross-functional way.

You must have fluent English and either French or Arabic (both would be advantageous)

This position will include regular travel in the MENA region and therefore you need to be willing and able to do this as part of your role

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:


  • Leads Finance & Controlling Advisors and Coordinators Team in MENA region

Finance & Controlling Services

  • Lead regional financial planning and contribute to regional support planning
  • Set up and steer regional planning and budgeting process in cooperation with regional strategy advisor
  • Consolidate the MAs budgets and endorse for approval by International Director MENA
  • Act as objective leader for global and regional assigned objectives/actions
  • Give management steering support on regional level
  • Participate in the development and update of financial policies and quality standards and implement these policies
  • Monitor regional financial crisis management and reduce risks for the federation

Finance & Controlling Services for National Associations

  • Allocate and coordinate the regional funds and endorse to the International Director MENA for approval
  • Monitor donor portfolio management in the region
  • Coordinate, monitor and consolidate the regional budgeting process
  • Coordinate and monitor regional accounting process
  • Monitor funds transfer process in the region
  • Integrate Public Funding processes into financial processes
  • Working with the Internal Audit team, contribute to the regional internal auditing process
  • Coordinate and monitor the regional external financial auditing process
  • Coordinate and monitor the regional collection process for beneficiaries statistics
  • Support International Director MENA in the financial aspects and the decision making on programme plans and proposals
  • Organise and monitor finance capacity building in MAs and regional General Secretariat (GSC)

Finance Services for GSC

  • Coordinate the membership fee communication in MENA region
  • Drive and monitor the preparation of the budgets of the International Office of MENA region and allocate GSC budget frames to Branch Offices
  • Monitor the accounting for the International Office of MENA region
  • Ensure regional liquidity planning and endorse liquidity plan for International Director MENAapproval
  • Lead the external financial audit process for the International Office of MENA region

Treasury & Risk Management

  • coordinate and monitor regional liquidity planning process
  • Coordinate and monitor regional risk assessment process
  • Coordinate and monitor regional bank relations

Finance Systems Support

  • Monitor implementation and user support for the SOS controlling system , the accounting and HR software and the Budget Entry Tool
