Job Description
Chemonics seeks a Data Programmer Level 1, Supply Chain - Facility-level AIDS Commodity Tracking (SC-FACT). The position will provide support to the Global Health Supply Chain - Procurement Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project to ensure effective HIV/AIDS commodity tracking in order to have a secured supply of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)-approved products. Specifically, the Data Programmer Level 1 will provide data collection, data cleansing, processing and analysis in support of the SC-FACT initiative which focuses on data management for the GHSC-PSM Service Distribution Point (SDP) level stock data in 17 countries and more than 14,000 health facilities. The Data Programmer Level 1 will support data processing and analysis using open source tools such as Python, MS Excel and MS Excel Visual Basic (VBA). Responsibilities include:
- Contribute towards the development of a country-specific adaptation for the global data collection template
- Support the monthly data collection and reporting process
- Gain understanding of PEPFAR Treatment data systems such as Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (MER) Indicators
- Clean and prepare data for analysis
- Carry out Geo-spatial analysis using Geographic Information System (GIS) tools
- Assist in creating visualizations for interim and final results of analyses using VBA, PowerMap and Leaflet
- Document data preparation and analysis methods for reproducible and repeatable processes
- Conduct data analysis and produce presentations and documents
- Respond to ad hoc requests from Field Offices, USAID/Washington and USAID/Missions
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required preferably in job-relevant field
- A minimum of 2 years of job-related experience in data management and/or data analytics
- Ability to process large datasets using open source tools such as R, Python, MS Excel and MS Excel Visual Basic (VBA)
- Python experience required.
- Ability to analyze and develop data visualizations, and presentations to the client and other external stakeholders required
- Experience with statistical such as SPSS, SAS, and R
- Experience working in large data management in developing country settings desirable
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required, with experience in an organization working across multiple teams highly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
- Experience working in a developing country context desirable
- Advanced proficiency in excel, word processing, and presentation applications
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluency in English required
- Working proficiency in French, Spanish and/or Portuguese desirable
