Action for Social Advancement (ASA) is a NGO head quartered at Bhopal and working for the livelihoods improvement of rural poor in over 3000 villages in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, UP and Orissa since 1996. It works in the field of Land and Water Resources Development, Sustainable Agriculture Productivity Enhancement and Agribusiness Promotion for smallholder farmers. Since 2005 ASA has been promoting “Collectives” of small farmers in the form of Farmer Producer

Organisations. The objective of this activity is to integrate small farmers with the supply chain of the

agriculture commodity. In this FPO model about 1000-1500 small farmers are organized and then

registered under the Producer Companies Act ASA has promoted more than 50 Farmer Producers’ Organisations of small farmers and has been providing capacity building support for doing agribusiness with their members. Support includes right from mobilization to incorporation to handhold in business planning, execution, HR, finance, marketing, statutory compliance, etc. ASA is currently supporting 40 FPOs in its working area and within a year this will grow to over 100 FPOs.

 It is looking for young, talented professionals for the following positions for appointment in FPOs :

Graduation/ Diploma in Agriculture, Agriculture marketing, Agribusiness management or BBA or equivalent Minimum 1-2 years experience in relevant field He/ She will be involved in managing operation of the FPO.

Mainly:

(i) Developing & establishing governing systems & procedures in FPO

(ii) Developing business plan, mobilizing working capital and achieving business plan targets

(iii) Agriculture Input Marketing

(iv) Agri Commodities Trading, etc.

B.Com/M.Com Minimum 1-2 years experience in similar field Ensure smooth accounting and

financial management specifically the job includes book keeping, internal control, internal audit,

finalization of accounts, tax related matters, etc.

Maintenance of records related to company

Salary and benefits Business Development Manager- Consolidated salary of Rs 25,000/ per month, Mobile Allowance and Travel Allowance (only for official purpose). No other benefits shall be applicable.

Accountant- Consolidated salary of Rs 10,000/ per month, Mobile Allowance and Travel Allowance (only for official purpose. No other benefits shall be applicable.

Recruitment & Selection Process to be followed for recruitment and selection of staff
