About the Project 
The Teacher Empowerment Program (TEP) was launched in 2022 with the goal 
of improving student learning levels in 110 intervention schools in the Dibrugarh 
district. The programme aimed to improve students' numeracy and English 
literacy skills by improving teacher pedagogy and subject competency in English 
and Mathematics. LLF Resource Persons provided on-the-ground mentoring and 
regular school visits to teachers throughout the school year. The programme will 
have an impact on 220 teachers and 15000 students in grades 1-5. It is hoped 
that strong professional development, supported by onsite mentoring and 
support, will lead to overall development in teachers, eventually leading to an 
increase in student learning. 
To ensure the sustainability of the Teacher Empowerment program and transfer 
the ownership to the Govt. it is ideal to build the academic leadership capacity of the teachers and empower them to ensure the academic improvement of 
students in achieving the learning outcomes. 
Reporting Relationship 
The Resource Person will report to Program Manager (stationed at project Office 
in Dibrugarh, Assam) 
Roles & Responsibilities 
• Work voluntarily or with local community organizations and groups to 
develop life skill programming hygiene, health, sanitation, relationship building, 
networking, and mental awareness.
• Develop a roster of events and host them successfully. 
• Identify and build opportunities for youth. 
• Define a clear set of goals and life skills themes to be covered. 
• Submit monthly reports including the number of sessions, attendance, 
activities, topics, and themes that were addressed. 
• Follow up, as needed with local community agencies to continue to build 
and grow the program. 
• It provides leadership in maintaining satisfactory community relationships 
and become a healthy role model for youth. 
• Assist in program development, implementation and evaluation. 
• Mobilise community with visits to Villages and liaise with Gram 
panchayats etc. 
Qualification requirement 
• Graduate/ Post graduate degree. MSW is desirable. Only relevant experience 
will be given weightage. 
• This position will require a dynamic, and flexible personality who can work in 
a fast-changing environment. 
Past professional experience 
• 2-3 years’ experience in handing educational projects, past teaching 
experience desirable 
• Teacher Training experience, preferably in the social/NGO sector 
• Ability to build and maintain relationships and partnerships with key 
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
• A passion for social development and willingness to travel

• Effective training skills with the ability to teach and train other individuals. 
• Ability to hold the interest and attention of those seeking training. 
• Self-confidence coupled with the ability to infuse confidence in others. 
• Knowledge of community resources. 
• School and Stakeholder management 
• High standards of ethics 
• Understanding of operating in a process driven environment 
• Good understanding of pedagogical dynamics in a classroom and ability to map 
diverse educational requirements to create sound implementation framework 
• Good spoken and written communication in English and Assamese 
• Data collection, analysis, reporting and report writing – requires good ICT skills 
and familiarity with ICT data handling tools
