Chemonics seeks a Marketing and Communications Specialist for its Procurement and Logistics Technology Center (PLTC) business entity within the Global Health Supply Chain Office (GHSCO), located in Arlington, VA. The manager will ensure that the PLTC leverages and builds on its target client market research. They will develop strategies and implementation plans to grow the PLTC’s knowledge of client’s preferences, trends, and opportunities. They will develop holistic and client specific communication and outreach plans, ensuring that they are informative, effective, and engaging. This will include producing content such as website content, social media posts, infographics, and newsletters in order to broaden service visibility and attract clients. They will coordinate closely with the Client Engagement Managers and ensure they are following outreach and communication strategies when engaging directly with clients and to track key client account status and metrics. The Marketing and Communication Manager will ensure that all marketing and outreach efforts follow defined branding, voice, and language strategies. They will also work with the Director of Global Supply Chain Services and Director of In-Country Supply Chain Solutions to develop technical products, service offerings, and value propositions to maintain full alignment with client requirements. Responsibilities include:


  • Leverage existing market research to develop holistic and donor specific outreach and communication strategies and implementation plans
  • Construct and maintain a client market research and engagement calendar across client segments; manage timelines and deliverables; lead and execute email outreach, web and social media content; report on results while learning from patterns and trends to ensure growth
  • Manage a continuous multichannel outreach plan to capture target market segments, namely institutional donors, international NGO’s, national governments, and the private sector
  • Develop client outreach and engagement protocols
  • Collaborate with Chemonics’ corporate and project communications teams, as needed, for development of internal and external communications plans
  • Ensure consistent external messaging (voice and language) that is in line with specific value offerings to our target clients
  • Create effective communication materials (quarterly newsletters, blogs, infographics, client testimonials, social media posts, white papers, presentations, posters etc.) drawing upon Chemonics’ experience, innovation, and talent

Knowledge Management:

  • Coordinate and collect reports from Client Engagement Managers on client meetings and outreach efforts
  • Maintain and update website and social media profiles, producing quality content on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Coordinate with the Client Engagement Managers to develop and track key client account metrics, monitor and manage account status, and provide regular reporting to the Marketing and Communications Director
  • Compile and distribute communication best practices, tool kit, procedures and protocols
  • Establish consistent company branding standards across all internal and external communication efforts


  • Identify gaps in market research and develops plans to address these gaps
  • Conduct market analysis and research to identify trends and opportunities within PLTC’s capture target market sectors
  • Collaborate with the Director of Global Supply Chain Services and Director of In-Country Supply Chain Solutions to support the development of technical products, service offerings, and value propositions to maintain full alignment with client requirements and build competitive advantage


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or relevant discipline; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in marketing, business development, and/or communications, preferably in the health, pharmaceutical, development, and/or humanitarian sectors. Demonstrated experience in international communications, supporting strategic communications and marketing programs, and/or public relations
  • Proven ability to design and implement marketing, communications, go-to-market, and or business development strategies and plans
  • Experience in health and/or humanitarian supply chains highly desired
  • Proven ability to lead the development of effective and high-performing communications and marketing collateral (brochures, videos, infographics, etc.), and craft information messages in various formats including success stories, website content, social media content and more
  • Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others, with strong interpersonal communications skills to establish and maintain strong working relationships with executives, senior technical experts, and a variety of staff around the world
  • Ability to connect individual communications activities or products to higher-level strategies and goals
  • Experience in international development and understanding, knowledge, and experience working with USAID, Global Fund, GAVI, and other major donors and organizations in health supply chains highly desired
  • Proficiency in MS Office; working knowledge of WordPress and/or Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad a minimum of 4-8 weeks per year
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluent English required; proficiency in French or Portuguese preferred
